Why are we so uncomfortable about abortion in all cases?

I believe abortion is acceptable if the case involves rape, disease, possible death to the mother and/or child, or serious injury to one of the parties. And, in the future, if it's absolutely necessary for stem cell research, I'd accept that.

I've heard many people talk about abortion being the worst thing ever and how the ones who abort are the greatest sinners, etc. But these people never mention the cases where it may be needed. Why are some still opposed to abortion when keeping the baby could cause problems? Why are we so uncomfortable about abortion in all cases?
i'm a christian and i can say from a christian's point of view it's taught to be immoral and wrong.

however i do believe if there is a medical reason or if a woman was raped especially at a young age then abortion can be an option. if i were raped i would not want that baby. it would be a reminder of that pain for me. some women do have their babies after being raped and they say it is the best thing that has ever happened. each woman is different.

i dont think abortion should be a thing thrown about willy nilly. a lot of young girls go out there and have unprotected sex and then ';omg how did this happen?'; yeah that's not a reason to have an abortion in my opinion.

but i can understand why it's hard for some people to wrestle with. Why are we so uncomfortable about abortion in all cases?
Because something bad happened to someone else, does not give that person the right to commit a wrong against another. Have you ever heard that two wrongs don't make a right?

Yes, its horrible when someone is raped or if the mother will die if the baby is being born, but its worse when you kill the innocent child.

Say you had two best friends, one was going to die, but for some crazy reason, if you killed the other friend, the one that was going to die survived. What would you do? Either way you would feel guilty, but naturally, most people would let nature take its course and let the one that was going to die, die.

Its a sick part of life, but killing the innocent is wrong no matter what ';evidence'; pro-abortionists put forth.
well, it is a moral belief that its right to keep the baby, even if the woman was raped, or if the child will be deformed, because 1: its not the babies fault the woman was raped, and 2: who are we to decide what ';quality of life'; is; most deformed %26amp; slow people love life.

and as for causing the death of the mother, well there have been many nurses and doctors that have said that in reality, theres no way that an abortion is ever medically neccesary for a woman's health. there are decisions during childbirth that could second-hand cause the death of the child, but never is there needed a purposeful killing.

and i dont know how you can possibly feel that way about stem cell research; what babies will be aborted? what makes them less important than the others? that doesnt even seem to follow the logic of the previous sentence.

i do believe its the worst thing ever - i recommend reading ';aborted women'; by david reardon
A lot of people think its completely unacceptable to take the life of unborn babies, even if its at the expense of another. Some of it is religious morals, other people just won't consider it. It's really just a matter of opinion and the way you were brought up to think of abortion.

There's really no right or wrong answer as to why people have such drastically different views on it.
It is against all ethical codes.

Doctors pledged to ';not give a strange substance to mothers in order to teminate preganacy'; since 2000 years in the Hippocratic Oath, until it was legalized just 30 years ago.

It is a fundamental ethical principle that you can't do an immoral act for a moral cause. In laymen's terms, ';the ends do not justify the means';.

In fact, there are some means that can desecrate any end.

You cannot kill a human life for another person's benefit. And what is a human embryo if not a human life? what is it then? Its not a tomato, or a chicken, its a human life by all scientific and rational definition.

Ungar MD
A lot of it involves religion and peoples strong beliefs. Some people are not comfortable with or believe that it is right to try to change human nature or ';play God';. No matter what the situation, some believe it is just wrong to kill a human being in any case.
pure and utter ignorance that's why and the cheek of people thinking they can judge a situation they have never experienced!
Problems. Really? Why keep the baby when it could cause problems? Um, babies are the direct result of something. Avoid that, avoid baby. Very simple. You have sex, you're just asking for a baby. its nature for crying out loud.

Problems though. Really? So--- lets kill all the dogs because.. keeping dogs around could cause problems. When the 5year old acts like a brat-- heck thats a problem. Lets terminate her. What are you talking about?? Oh wait i know. Convenience. Because the value of suffering is totally lost on you. Suffering is a part of life and attempting to skimp out on it by killing someone-- Well thats going to bite you in the butt when Jesus judges you, let me just say..

Stem cell research. So basically old people should kill young people so old people can get older? Yeah that makes sense. NOT.

Rape. There's no excuse for this. Have the baby. Yeah it sounds cruel but what kind of person doesnt get the morning after pill after that???

Disease. So if your baby is retarded, then kill it because omg we dont want to show those less intelligent than us a little bit of.. oh i dont know.. LOVE???

Possible death to the mother or child. I would only accept that as an excuse when itd be impossible for the baby to live and when the operation is not about killing the baby but saving the mother's life and if the baby dies thats a tragedy.

Abortion is the worst thing ever. It's the slaughtering of the most innocent in our society.

Wake up, lady/man/rascistagainstbabiesperson.
