When you consider the overwhelming number of malpractice cases of medical doctors?

Why are people leary of alternative practioners, but not MD's?When you consider the overwhelming number of malpractice cases of medical doctors?
It's true, alternative practitioners (Naturopaths, Homeopaths, Acupuncture, for instance) hardly ever get any malpractice suits.

The reason is that their methods of treatment are not as dangerous, generally speaking. Also, these practitioners generally explain fully what they are doing, the pros and cons and the risks, and let the patient decide. Since the patient is in on the decision, s/he is less likely to sue.

I think people are sometimes leery of alternative practitioners because they aren't familiar with them. They consider MDs to be authorized and standardized (somewhat true) and they think the MD can and should be able to make the right decision.

The fact is, there are few guarantees in health care, no matter what modality you use. When you consider the overwhelming number of malpractice cases of medical doctors?
It isn't as bad as it was say in the 50's when people believed everything their doctor told them. It is obvious they make a lot of mistakes, they also do a lot of good.
I think it's because alternative practioners are thought of not having any boundaries or maybe they're seen as always experimenting, whereas MD's do have boundaries %26amp; people know what the rules are %26amp; go accordingly.
we are brainwashed by the pharm. companys and ins. companys to beleive other wise
