What is your guess about th percentage of time police testimony in a criminal cases contain lies?

I think OJ was found not guilty because the defense caught the police telling lies. I've run across this with other cases too. I'm wondering if everyone thinks the police lie all the time or if mots think they tell the truth most of the time or if everyone thinks they tell the truth all the time and think I'm wrong. What is your guess about th percentage of time police testimony in a criminal cases contain lies?
1. I think the police rarely lie in court, unless they are on trial themselves.. They are trained to spew facts.

2. I think O.J.'s defense attorneys used trick tactics to make it appear that the police were lying. Remember, this was the best defense team money could buy, and he paid them to tie up the court and confuse the jury into an acquittal. What is your guess about th percentage of time police testimony in a criminal cases contain lies?
i thing the police tell the thruth but when they fail to tell the whole truth on matters that relate to every one in my opion i would say most of them lie about.60. percent to get an indicement that is my opion have saw this done by them on poor people as well i also have worked in legal places as well ? based on fact/
50 percent of the time
Most police officers lie, especially in hearings where they are not sworn in such as traffic citations. Unfortunately they almost always call in a backup so its their word x2 or 3 against your one.

85-90%
Sadly, about 50% of the time.
I think 20% of the time knowingly, and 40% unknowing

OJ was guilty and they wanted to do what they had to do to convict him. I dont agree with what they did.. just was it..

How can i use up 2 cases of cranberry sauce going out of date soon.?

i have a restaurant in the philippines but they seem to find it bland and generally dont like it out of the bottle. any ideas or recipes to finish a few bottles off?How can i use up 2 cases of cranberry sauce going out of date soon.?
If it was me I would blend it in a blender and add equal parts of orange juice and make frozen rum or vodka sex-on-the-beach drinks in a promotional special and unload them all in one night.

My experience in the bar and restaurant business is if it is in the inventory and is not moving, the best way to get it moving is to involve alcohol.

Most people that look for alcohol bargains are alcoholics and once they have one they will drink till they drop if you let them. You have a social and civil responsibility to your customers but that does not mean you cannot get what you can without letting them get soused.

This has been a time honored selling technique which even before I got sober, I used but didn't understand.

People in recovery will stay in recovery if they want to. people that are still drinking will continue to drink until the pain get so bad they quit.

So make hay while the sun shines. How can i use up 2 cases of cranberry sauce going out of date soon.?

Crushed pineapple --

It also makes a good BBQ sauce.

I would make cranberry chutney and give for gifts.

But you can only use so much.So share with friends or your local food pantry.
Do you serve anything in a sweet and sour type cooked sauce? My mother made this awesome sauce many years ago with cranberry sauce. She mixed a can of cranberry sauce with tomato sauce (about 8 cups) and let it cook and meld together. She used this sauce with stuffed cabbage rolls and cocktail meatballs, among other things.
Donate it to a local food bank, rather than wasting it. You might use some with a pork or ham roast or even turkey or chicken, goes well with cranberry.
Cranberry BBQ Porkchop!! just mix the sause with the bbq sause and pour it onto your porkchop.

It was proposed with all 12 amendments proposed in the Bill of Rights. (Though one of the two not ratified was later ratified as the 27th amendment, there still remains one that has not been. Though it simply relates to district apportionment.)

How can I use old contact cases? Or what should I do with them?

I've worn contacts since 3rd grade. Recently, the brand of contact solution that I use has been packing contact cases in with the solution. So, I have TONS of contact cases in my bathroom closet. What do I do with them? Should I throw them away, recycle them? Or are there any other creative uses out there?

Thanks! How can I use old contact cases? Or what should I do with them?
If you have extra sell them to people for like 25cents,50 or 1 dollar. you can make some money then you wont have so many. How can I use old contact cases? Or what should I do with them?
LOL... I love this question... I think there are only two creative ways to use those contact cases.

1. Use it to hold your coins

2. Keep mints in them so you don't have crushed mints in your purse

The only other way to use the contact cases is to hold contacts! That's about it...
If they are clean, you can take them into school and give them away to friends (who maybe don't use that brand of solution). They might have a re-cycle number on the bottom, if so, they can be recycled assuming they accept that kind of plastic where you live.
LOL, a contact case may also make a great water/food dish if you have a very miniature...gerbil ?

What court has jurisdiction over murder cases?

I'm making up an example of a murder for this project that I'm doing, and I need to know what courts have jurisdiction over murder cases.

Thanks so much.

:]What court has jurisdiction over murder cases?
The circuit court of the criminal division tries the cases. If appealed, then on to the supreme court. What court has jurisdiction over murder cases?
In the United States, generally it is the court which has general criminal jurisdiction for the State in which the murder occurs. Since each state ';names'; its courts, differently you can't get a positive answer without the state where your murder will occur.
Normally a State court would take jurisdiction over a murder case unless it occured on Federal land. Then it would fall to the Agency responsible for the area the murder took place ie; Military installation, Post office, Federal Court house etc.

Usually the FBI will take jusisdiction in a non military installation. The FBI will also take murder cases on tribal lands, although the investigations will also include tribal police, BIA and FBI. Hope this helps.
In Canada, it's the Superior Court that has jurisdiction over murder cases.
The Court in the area that the murder either occurred or the body was found. So, if a murder occurred in Phoenix, Maricopa County Superior Court would have jurisdiction. If the murder occurred on the Gila Indian Reservation, the US District Court in Arizona would have jurisdiction.

If the murder occurred in a plane, traveling between Arizona and California, but occurred while the plane was over Arizona, it would be an Arizonan Court, probably a federal Court as it involved a federally regulated entity.
A murder case is actually started in the Court of Common Pleas (PA) in the area where the defendant is charged. In some cases, it could be held in a Federal Court. From there, if the defendant is found guilty, it is appealed to the next higher court. Before it is appealed to the higher court, the lower court ruling is reviewed to determine if there is merit to hold a new hearing.

I have an assignment where I need to write two briefs from two separate cases. One that deals with real property and one intellectual property. I am wondering if there is web site where I can read cases pertaining to the above mentioned cases. Thanks. Is there a web site where I can find real and intellectual property law cases?
For physical property cases, this site might interest you:

    http://www.garretwilson.com/education/in鈥?/a>

It would probably only take a short internet search to find the full text of the cases you want to brief. I haven't looked through the whole page, but I don't think this includes any IP cases.

For intellectual property, perhaps you could look here:

How is it that the 20 cases in the states recovered from the swine flu then in the people of mexico are drying?

While watching the news of the swine flu they are saying that the 20 cases that had the swine flu were mild and they all recover but the people of mexico are drying. Could it be because they said that they had no contract with pigsHow is it that the 20 cases in the states recovered from the swine flu then in the people of mexico are drying?
I just read an article published by the Associated Press an hour or so ago that suggests there is no answer to your question. They said people are working together in the United States, Canada and Mexico to figure out what exactly is happening. How is it that the 20 cases in the states recovered from the swine flu then in the people of mexico are drying?
The virus is not prevalent enough to reach statistical significance in the United States, with only a handful of confirmed cases. It takes about 3,000 cases to establish mortality rate. Within the next week we should see that many cases in Mexico and the United States.

The fact the current 鈥檚wine flu鈥?has shown to be contagious is alarming. So far the virus has shown to have a 6% 6.3% mortality rate. It may not seem like much, but please consider the following: The deadly influenza panic in 1918 had a mortality rate of under 1%.

This virus went on to kill tens of thousands of healthy people a day in large cities and up to 100 million people world wide.

Viruses, like this strain of swine flu, kill their host by over-stimulating active immune systems that are robust and healthy. That is why the victims in Mexico were between the ages of 20 and 45.

Some have said that no one in the United States have died from the virus, so we need not worry. Experts say it is only a matter of time. The virus is not prevalent enough to reach statistical significance in the United States, with only a handful of confirmed cases. 93.7% of all Mexicans with the virus recovered.

More cause for worry: The 1918 virus started off 鈥榤ild鈥?before it mutated into a raging storm. It also does not mean we will see millions of deaths. It is too early to draw sweeping conclusions. Nevertheless, there is potential for a disastrous pandemic. If 50% of Americans catch this flu in the next two years, and the mortality rate stays at 6.3%, we would witness 20+ million deaths.

The swine flu outbreak is likely to benefit one of the most prolific and successful venture capital firms in the United States: Kleiner Perkins Caufield %26amp; Byers, Thomson Reuters Private Equity Week reported on Friday.

Shares of the two public companies in the firm's portfolio of eight Pandemic and Bio Defense companies -- BioCryst Pharmaceuticals (BCRX.O) and Novavax (NVAX.O) -- jumped Friday on news that the swine flu killed a reported 60 people in Mexico and has infected people in the United States.

    And here is more ....

Baxter: Product contained live bird flu virus

The company that released contaminated flu virus material from a plant in Austria confirmed Friday that the experimental product contained live H5N1 avian flu viruses.

And an official of the World Health Organization鈥檚 European operation said the body is closely monitoring the investigation into the events that took place at Baxter International鈥檚 research facility in Orth-Donau, Austria

Fact is that this is nothing new. If you remember, SARS was going to take out humanity a few years ago also.

It is interesting to note though that everywhere but the U.S. seems to be hit by every crap disease that comes around. I would think that is a good enough excuse to tighten up the borders.

';Should'; is a tough question, because morally most people feel that the answer should be yes. It's immoral to let a genocide occur when it's within our power to stop it.

But, from the point of view of a rational actor, we shouldn't automatically engage ourselves just because there's a genocide somewhere. Nations have to consider the political, military, and geographical consequences of doing something like that, and we also have to consider objectively just how much long-term good we can do. If we intervene one year and it falls apart the next, we haven't really helped much.

Unless the US can supply a lasting solution to genocide, has the political means to engage in an intevention, and has the domestic political will to see that intervention through to a useful conclusion, it should not intervene militarily in a genocide.
No. Nation building is a fool's game. Unfortunately and predictably, leftists think they can tell good nation building from bad. So you get such ridiculous outcomes as leftists claiming nation building in Iraq is bad, but nation building in Darfur/Sudan is good.

Again, all nation building is a fool's game.
The US, along with many other countries, signed the 1948 Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide. Sadly, almost no-one has lived up to their obligations under that. Only case I can think of where it has been prevented was the bombing of Serbia to prevent genocide of the Kosovars.

At the time, some idiot asked me to sign a petition against the bombing. They seemed upset when I told them what I thought of them and their petition.
No, the United States needs to stop getting involved in other countries problems. It's not appreciated when we do, and the countries in need usually end up turning on us. Screw 'em!! Let them solve their own problems for a change maybe someday the world will realize we do alot more good than we are given credit for.
Friends and countrymen, if the wise and learned philosophers of the elder world, the first observers of nutation and aberration, the discoverers of maddening ether and invisible planets, the inventors of Congreve rockets and Shrapnel shells, should find their hearts disposed to enquire what has America done for the benefit of mankind?

Let our answer be this: America, with the same voice which spoke herself into existence as a nation, proclaimed to mankind the inextinguishable rights of human nature, and the only lawful foundations of government. America, in the assembly of nations, since her admission among them, has invariably, though often fruitlessly, held forth to them the hand of honest friendship, of equal freedom, of generous reciprocity.

She has uniformly spoken among them, though often to heedless and often to disdainful ears, the language of equal liberty, of equal justice, and of equal rights.

She has, in the lapse of nearly half a century, without a single exception, respected the independence of other nations while asserting and maintaining her own.

She has abstained from interference in the concerns of others, even when conflict has been for principles to which she clings, as to the last vital drop that visits the heart.

She has seen that probably for centuries to come, all the contests of that Aceldama the European world, will be contests of inveterate power, and emerging right.

Wherever the standard of freedom and Independence has been or shall be unfurled, there will her heart, her benedictions and her prayers be.

But she goes not abroad, in search of monsters to destroy.

She is the well-wisher to the freedom and independence of all.

She is the champion and vindicator only of her own.

She will commend the general cause by the countenance of her voice, and the benignant sympathy of her example.

She well knows that by once enlisting under other banners than her own, were they even the banners of foreign independence, she would involve herself beyond the power of extrication, in all the wars of interest and intrigue, of individual avarice, envy, and ambition, which assume the colors and usurp the standard of freedom.

The fundamental maxims of her policy would insensibly change from liberty to force....

She might become the dictatress of the world. She would be no longer the ruler of her own spirit....

[America's] glory is not dominion, but liberty. Her march is the march of the mind. She has a spear and a shield: but the motto upon her shield is, Freedom, Independence, Peace. This has been her Declaration: this has been, as far as her necessary intercourse with the rest of mankind would permit, her practice.
Tell China to deal with Darfur, why is it our problem.
Are you just noticing how ineffective the United Nations is? They are as worthless as the league of Nations was while Hitler was taking over country after country.
    ';Should'; is subjective.

In genocide cases the sitting government is not legitimate so we CAN if Congress so chooses.
Anywhere there is a commodity that the CFR deems important to their goals the u.s. will send it's military to do their bidding.
Not just us alone. Intervention should be from NATO forces and anybody else that would like to help.
We are not the world's policemen.

Where Do You Get Box Cases of yugioh cards?

I need to know for my eBay store. Where do you get cases of boxes of yugioh cards. I need to know for all the booster packs.Where Do You Get Box Cases of yugioh cards?
KK try contacting the company or use the ';beckett yugioh unofficial collector) you have chances of getting every product as well as wholesale prices if you provide the correct information etc. This is your best bet because they have near to unlimited supplies of whatever products you need (generally dont hold me to this please)

Apart from that hobby leagues, local tournaments etc. Here is what I reccomend for selling cards so most can be turned around for Buying them I guess (not all mind you)

Yep i know heaps of places... (Not many good internet sites for good deals but)

    This is my standard answer....

    There are plenty of places

1- EBAY as everyone correctly pointed out is one of the top places on my list

2- Friends tend to buy some as well you just need to find the right ones

3- In Australia there is a collectable store called 'The Toy Collector' they buy cards. It goes 1/2 the price for store credit e.g. if the card is worth $15 you get $7.50 and 1/3 cash e.g. $15=$5 cash. So try to find a similar store around

4- Local tournaments, such as Shonen Jumps (In America) are always filled with people buying, trading and selling cards. Plus the store owners usually have a collection so they are usually looking to buy decent cards in mint 2 near mint condition.

Be careful not to under or overprice your cards. You could use the 'Becket Yugioh Unofficial Collector' magazines as they have a great price guide as well as great information and ideas on the ever progressive world of YUGIOH for players, collectors and those looking to get out of YUGIOH

There are of course more places but these will be your best bet..

couldnt be bothered retyping so this is a copy then paste job

They usually don't. It actually HURTS their case to delay. Witnesses tend to forget. In the cases that they file at the last minute, it usually means they tried to negotiate out of court and the DEFENDANT stalled hoping the statute would run before the plaintiff gave up and actually sued.

What percentage of sexual harrasment cases are false?

And what is the punishment for false acquisition? What percentage of sexual harrasment cases are false?
The statistics for this would be hard to calculate...

Just because the accused is found innocent doesn't mean that the accusation was false. The accuser might have truly felt harassed but it was determined that the activities did not constitute harassment. This is not a false accusation.

Getting people to admit that they lied and made up things to accuse someone would be a very tough statistic to gather since that opens then up to a civil suit for defamation, slander/libel. (Which is what I guess you could consider to be one of the possible penalties for a false accusation). If you continue with the complete lies under oath, you could be charged with perjury. If you file a police report based on those lies, you could be charged with Filing a False Police Report. What percentage of sexual harrasment cases are false?
It is hard to come up with true statistics, but there are studies that have shown between 20% and 30% false accusations...

There is no punishment for false accusations.

Does anyone know any good cases for my 2nd generation iPod Touch?

I recently bought a 2nd generation iPod Touch and I am looking to buy a good case for it. I am also looking for some good noise-canceling EARBUDS (NOT HEADPHONES) that stay put in your ear, unlike the Apple earbuds that come with the iPod.Does anyone know any good cases for my 2nd generation iPod Touch?
Just go to your near BestBuy or Future Shop store for a good earbud. In my opinion, two cases you cant go wrong with is incase slider and Rebel Touch. Theyre both very stylish and yet very protective. For a better deal, get Rebel Touch. You have to buy it online, but it comes with every little thing like screen protectors, movie stand, dock adapter, and more. The incase can get a little pricey for just the case. But either way you're going to get a nice case.

Hope this helps! :DDoes anyone know any good cases for my 2nd generation iPod Touch?
go to best buy. They have the cases and the ear buds that actually go in your ear, the ones with the nubs rather than the little ones that fall out

What were some famous kidnapping cases from the 1930's other than Lindbergh?

I would rather have convictions under the Lindbergh kidnapping act but any would help........What were some famous kidnapping cases from the 1930's other than Lindbergh?
Marian Parker - On December 14, 1927, William Hickman kidnapped and murdered 12-year-old Marian Parker, the daughter of a Los Angeles banker. A few days after being paid a small ransom, Hickman was arrested and tried. On October 19, 1928, became the first American kidnapper to be executed for his crime.

Brooke Hart, the son of a San Jose, California, businessman, was kidnapped and murdered. His kidnappers were lynched by a mob, the last public lynching in California (1933).

The kidnapping of nine-year-old George Weyerhaeuser in 1935 shocked the city of Tacoma, Washington. The son of prominent lumberman J.P. Weyerhaeuser, George lived and eventually became Chairman of the Weyerhaeuser Company.

The two kidnappings for ransom the Barker-Karpis group committed were suggested to them by the middlemen the gang worked with in St.Paul, Jack Peifer and Harry Sawyer. Both kidnappings occurred only six months apart. William Hamm (of Hamm鈥檚 Beer) was snatched in June 1933, and Edward Bremer, a banker, in January 1934. Hamm鈥檚 ransom was $100,000 and Bremer鈥檚 $200,000. Colossal money in the 1930鈥檚.What were some famous kidnapping cases from the 1930's other than Lindbergh?
The kidnapping and murder of the son of Charles A. Lindbergh in 1932 led to the federal statute prescribing severe penalties for transporting the victims of kidnapping across state or national boundaries. AKA: The Lindbergh Act. The act provides that if a victim is not released within twenty-four hours after being abducted, a court may presume that the victim was transported across state lines.

Trying to think of any other kidnappings from the 1930's it was applied to.

Patty Hearst was way after 1930.
Brooke Hart Kidnapping %26amp; Public Lynching

On Nov 9, 1933, 22-year old Brooke Hart, of Hart Department Store fame, was kidnapped and held for $40,000 ransom. Brooke and his family were very popular in San Jose, which would not bode well for his kidnappers.

A massive manhunt, and some good breaks, led conclusively to Thomas Harold Thurmond. Thomas was rounded up and, after six hours of interrogation, named his accomplice, John M. Holmes. They fessed up to murdering Brooke with a piece of concrete, and indicated where they had dropped the body into the San Francisco Bay. The body was found seventeen days later.

    The public, still outraged at the kidnap-murder of Charles Lindberg's baby a few months earlier, was crying for blood. On the evening of the 26th, a lynch mob broke into the Santa Clara County Jail behind the Courthouse, and dragged Holmes and Thurmond from their cells. They were hauled into St. James Park where 3000 onlookers from San Jose, and points beyond, chanted ';String them up.';

Clyde Arbuckle relates, in his great tome, History of San Jose,

';Thurmond was hung from the limb of a venerable mulberry tree, and, the limb of a great elm a few feet away served as Holmes' gallow a second or two later.'; Souvenir hunters so damaged the trees that they were cut down. Not a trace remains of them.

During this long day, Governor ';Sunny Jim'; Rolf publicized his refusal to call out the National Guard to protect the kidnappers, referring to the lynching as a ';lesson.';San Joseans were not terribly distraught over the lynching, the feeling was that Holmes and Thurmond got what they deserved.
See if you can find the book ';Bloodletters and Badmen';. It is an encyclopedia of American crimes and criminals. It has tons of stuff about the 1930's. It's also a great read.

  • Where do I buy drum cases and what kind do I buy?

My boyfriend just bought really nice C%26amp;C drums - everything but a snare and cymbals. I want to buy him drum cases - where can I look online and what are the best kind? How much can I expect to pay, and are there any that are (not the best) but pretty good quality for less money?

Thanks.Where do I buy drum cases and what kind do I buy?
your basic cases are going to either be hard or soft. its pretty much exactly what it sounds like. hard cases will be more expensive in general, but will provide better protection. In my opinion, unless your bf is going to be doing a lot of travelling and gigs with his drums, the hard cases are probably unnecessary. I would go with soft cases myself, as they are easier to store and cheaper and will protect the drums against scratches and dings.Where do I buy drum cases and what kind do I buy?

    Here's one site.
There is a pattern from McCalls to turn a pillow case into a doll. If I remember correctly it is very easy, and the open edge of the pillowcase is the bottom of the dress. I dont know the exact number of the pattern, but I am pretty sure it is still in circulation.
I would think you have to use the pillow cases to make a dress for a doll or pen fore for over the top of the dress. I get a e-mail from simplicity.com a couple times a month and they show me patterns. I am sure there are more sites for patterns like butterick.com and McCall';s.

    George was in office from April 30, 1789 – March 4, 1797.

  • I have the list of registered offenders. How do I look at the cases to know who is a danger to my kids?

All of the sites that list the registered offenders have a $15 to $25 dollar charge( this includes the justice bureau) to get further information on each offender. I want to differentiate those offenders who had consensual sex with a minor from those who are pedophiles or predators. You can't tell this from the charge listed on the registry in most cases. There are 70 registered offenders in my town. I can't afford to pay for all their files. I wonder if any parents or organizations have a way for me to find this information out.I have the list of registered offenders. How do I look at the cases to know who is a danger to my kids?
Go to the circuit court house with the list of names and ask to see the court file. This is important because if you read the ';information'; You will see the facts that resulted in the filing of the original charge. Most of the time the criminal will plead down to a lesser charge. There is no charge to look at the file at the court house and the clerks are usually very helpful. Also, the offenders in most states are required to register with the local police. Call the public information dept of the police dept and they may also be able to give you details if you have questions after reading the file at the ct. house.I have the list of registered offenders. How do I look at the cases to know who is a danger to my kids?
On the list they are a danger to my kids!!!!!
I would like to know that also so please Email me when you find out,Greatly appreciated
Your State's Official Website should be able to give you a link to your State's Sex offender registry--it's free--this is nothing you should pay for! My State's website even tells the charge----

    Take this link : http://www.acic.org/soff/index.php

Type in ';Little Rock'; in the City box and in the ';State'; box, put AR....then select a name. I can get a picture and the convicted offense.....

Run a search of (your State) Sex Offender registry and see what you can come up with that would be free. Good luck!

If you can't find the exact charge, then the best bet is to try to keep your child away from all sex offenders, better safe than sorry.
You could try checking their police records. That would give you a good Idea who was who.
There is a great website created by John Walsh of America's Most Wanted. All you do is type in your address and it will pull up all of the offenders in your vicinity. I believe all of the offenders on the site even have photographs so you can show your children who to watch out for.

    Be safe!!

    http://www.familywatchdog.us/
The National Sex Offender Registry states what crime was committed than there are places on the site you can read to find out what the crime means
um try this site www.familywatchdog.us its free and its pretty kool!

Why are there so many cases of stepdads molesting kids and the mothers ignoring it?

I've known people who were molested by their stepfathers and their mothers usually didn't believe their kids or IGNORED them when they tried to talk to them about it... Why would anyone do this? What do you think causes these mothers to ignore their kids or deny these things? Why would they choose some guy over their kids? Why are there so many cases of stepdads molesting kids and the mothers ignoring it?
The people I know who have had this happen in their lives tend to not see it. They're too close to the happenings. They can't believe it's happening to them. They don't want to see it. They love their husband, and this is such a horrific and terrible thing he's doing that they wouldn't know how to deal with it. Most mothers, if you were to hurt their child, would kill you. I know I would. How would I handle it if the person who hurt my child was someone I loved? Someone who I believed I couldn't do without, financially, emotionally, etc? So they go into denial.

I would hope I wouldn't. I've seen what happens when mothers do. But if you look into cases where the father of the child molested them, not step-dad but father, the mothers ignore it for as long as they can then too. It's just the nature of the crime, how horrifying it is, and how the mother just can't imagine he would do that. Why are there so many cases of stepdads molesting kids and the mothers ignoring it?
Ususally the mother does not have the same care giver attitude that is required to raise and protect a child , The male offender has usually manipulated the house hold and the mother into a myriad of dysfunctional ideas and beliefs. The step dad may encourage the idea that the step daughter is making it up because she hates the new step dad. Whatever the case may be you can bet if it goes on regularly the Mother knows about it, Whether she is willing to save her daughter and confront and remove her from the situation is another thing, Some women are glad that the father has turned sexual attention toward the daughter and not her any more. For whatever excuse this just breeds abuse and more abuse and sexual molestation whether actual penetration has occurred or not is like rape . Kids rarely know where to turn or where to go or whom to trust especially if their own mother turns a blind eye and disbelieves the situation. I believe that if the mother was told and chose to ignore and law enforcement gets involved she should be charged with accessory to the fact, for sure.
Unfortunately, some people are just weak. Some women want to believe that their worlds are good and the men in them as well. They do the unspeakable and ignore their children. It's heinous, I totally agree. There's no forgiving that kind of betrayal. In that instance I think the kid should go over their mother and tell an authority. It'll be difficult, facing their parent, but long-term it will end the abuse and the mother will be forced to acknowledge the truth.

If a mother is still in denial, angry or oblivious, then there's something wrong there. A woman like that needs professional help. A child shouldn't have to live a life of abuse. The abuse is then coming two-fold, through the person sexually abusing them and the mother allowing it. It's not right and something needs to be done about it. A person can't let that kind of thing continue, even after it ends, because the relationship with the mother is ruined.
I can think of a variety of reasons:

    1. Mom's too self-absorbed or willing to believe her kid's lying for the sake of a new romantic relationship?

    2. Kids don't know it's wrong. They're willing to trust parents.

    3. Mom never cared about the kid in the first place.
I don't know. I know this one girl it happened to. Personally I think her mom was too afraid of ';losing'; her new boyfriend/husband/partner, atleast that's what it seemed like in this particular case.

In your opinion should companies be allowed to settle for damages in legal cases?

Or should they be made to suffer the full discretion of the law?

After all, if you as an individual kills or maims someone, you end up incarcerated for a very long time.

Why doesn't this happen in court cases where for example the company could be held for criminal negligence but instead settles for damages? In your opinion should companies be allowed to settle for damages in legal cases?
First of all, people can plead guilty to lesser crimes and receive lighter punishment. It's called plea bargaining and it's basically the same thing as a settlement. Criminal defendants do it all the time. In fact, they do it more often than they go to trial. Companies have a right to do it too.

Second, most cases involving companies are civil cases. For obvious reasons, it's usually pointless to charge a company with a crime, unless you plan to collect a fine, because you can't lock up a fictitious legal entity. You need to charge the people who run the company, or who committed the bad acts, with a crime.

A civil suit is typically an action for damages (i.e. money) by one person (or company) against another. If they come to an agreement between themselves and want to settle, why shouldn't the courts let them do that? They both have to agree to it. If the plaintiff doesn't feel that the settlement is large enough, the plaintiff can always force the case into court.

If we didn't allow settlements, we'd be trying about 20 times as many cases per year. We'd need a lot more courts, judges, lawyers, and clerks, and that's all very expensive. Is that really what you want?In your opinion should companies be allowed to settle for damages in legal cases?
You are mixing civil cases and criminal cases. In a criminal case the penalty may be a fine. The company individual involved in the crime may have a criminal charge against him but that is against him not the company. In a civil case, the company is being sued for damages. It may be in the company's best interest to avoid a trial and make a monetary settlement. There are numerous reasons for this action not the least of which they may feel they are not liable but to prove it will cost significantly more than a token payment to get rid of it. Remember many people sue even though the company did nothing wrong because they are looking for easy money. Also, if settlements were not allowed, the Courts would be backlogged even more than they are now.
Absolutely! First of all, settlements keep courts from being horribly clogged. Second, the plaintiff could well lose the case entirely if it goes through trial. Third, I've seen several juries give MUCH smaller awards than were discussed in the settlement negotiations.

What is an account of precedent with an example or two of relevant cases?

your question makes no sense. Precedent of what, exactly?

Are there any documented, reproducible cases of walking on water or transformation of water into wine?

I'm working on a science project and need to cite some legitimate sources.

Are there any such documented cases of these occurrences? Are there any documented, reproducible cases of walking on water or transformation of water into wine?
Actually in South East Asia, there are myths and such of monks and hermits walking on water. Are there any documented, reproducible cases of walking on water or transformation of water into wine?
Nope, besides the Bible, which is not really a reliable source if you want reproducible cases.

There are some bugs that can walk on water because they are light enough and spread their weight over large areas. Really the only HUMANS that can walk on water are people who walk on ice.

When it comes to water to wine, it is possible, but only if you're willing to spend billions of dollars rearranging and reforming the atoms for the molecules found in wine.
None of the scientific and/or the religious community would ever let that information become available and they keep it as something impossible by deliberate design and manipulated programming.

It is still possible to walk on water or change water into wine IF you KNOW how and develop the necessary skills. It cannot be done on 'belief' or 'faith'. If you don't think so, TRY IT! You can 'believe' all you want and it will not work!

IF you want to know the building blocks necessary to do such, they are contained in The Anointed, The Elect, and The Damned!

The premise of this question is flawed since everyone has the right to a jury trial in most cases.

Help appreciatedIn dealing with First Amendment cases involving religion, the Supreme Court has ruled that ?
    The correct answer is A.

Thanks for the additional comment. When I saw this question I thought to myself that either this is a mulitple choice or your teacher wants you to write a very, very long essay. In dealing with First Amendment cases involving religion, the Supreme Court has ruled that ?
Whoops--your question did not come through. Sorry

Are there any such notorious cases of corrupted Jewish clergy in history?

Catholic clergy throughout history used to care about money and power. Of course not all of them, but still, variuos selling of indulgences and so on...Are there any such notorious cases of corrupted Jewish clergy in history?
I doubt it if you will find any written documents about corruption as these things were kept very secretive. I doubt it if there were money issues as the Jews were usually very poor in Europe (I am talking about the period until the 19th century) If you talk about molestation of kids I am sure it did happen and it happens even today but its very difficult to learn anything about it as the Jews like many other minorities learned how to expel such criminals without using the official authorities.

I have two handmade pillow cases that I want to display perhaps on a wall while protecting them. Any ideas?

I don't have to display the whole pillow case, they can be folded. The edge of one is hand embroidered so I would want that to show. The other doesn't have any embroidery but it was handmade. I would like to display them on a wall as decoration.I have two handmade pillow cases that I want to display perhaps on a wall while protecting them. Any ideas?
If you want to do this yourself, it is really quite easy. You will want to buy a frame which has acid free components and non-reflective glass to protect your treasures from deterioating, yellowing and from UVB/UVA light. Michaels craft stores carry them, but wait for their ad when they are running the 40-50% off cupons.

If you frame them individually, a neat effect would be to fold the edged one in half, stuff it with a little batting and put it in a shadow box. But you can find a unique enough selection of frames to do just about anything. Although you buy a frame that is archival, I still would avoid hanging them in direct sunlight. They even have triangle shaped archival frames for flags which might be an interesting way to fold the handmade non-embroidered in.I have two handmade pillow cases that I want to display perhaps on a wall while protecting them. Any ideas?
Have a professional framer put them in a shadowbox! :)
put them in a fame %26amp; put them on the wall
Buy a shadow box. It is a wall frame that is usually 1 to 2 inches deep. You can fold the pillowcase or lay it out flat.

Any frame shop should have these in stock.

    Walmart occasionally does also.

This shows samples of shadow boxes.

Why are there so many cases of stepdads molesting kids and the mothers ignoring it?

I've known people who were molested and abused by their stepfathers and their mothers usually didn't believe their kids or IGNORED them when they tried to talk to them about it... Why would anyone do this? What do you think causes these mothers to ignore their kids or deny these things? Why would they choose some guy over their kids? Why are there so many cases of stepdads molesting kids and the mothers ignoring it?
I don't know why it is, but there are all too many women out there who seem willing to sacrifice their own children just so they can have a man around the house.

I believe any woman who allows something like this to happen to her own children should receive just as much jail time as the men who commit the crime. Why are there so many cases of stepdads molesting kids and the mothers ignoring it?
The mothers are even more at fault, as it's their job to protect their kids, and they are not doing it. They ';love the sex their boyfriends give them, because them having sex with her PROVES that they love her(barf)';.

The mothers are pieces of crap that will spread their legs for anything that breathes. I do not care what the excuses are. Wild animals are willing to die to protect their young. Why is it wild animals care for their young more than human women do? The kids need to be taken from the mother.
The women usually have very low self esteem. They are afraid that this man may leave them and no other man will be interested, This is a world of couples and some women are very concerned that they could not cope alone.

Others were abused as children and don't really understand that this is not an expression of love but an abuse. They feel powerless and think that

    a) this is not happening in their home

    b) the child is telling them stories out of jealousy because they want mum to themselves

    c) the man is not doing the child and real harm.

These are not necessarily bad women, certainly some are but my no means all. Sometimes it is easier to pretend it is not happening so you don't have to deal with it. Some times the women are jealous of the attention given to the child by the boyfriend.

This is not a simple thing, for anyone involved. Often there is more than one victim in the situation. I am not saying this is OK or that it is right but it is seldom black and white.
it's basic psychology. also the thought of 'it could never happen to me/us'

Mother's don't want to think of their spouses, the people they love and want to spend the rest of their lives with as horrible people.

People generally turn ';blind eyes' to anything they dont want to believe, dont want to see, dont know how to deal with, or dont understand.

They would rather think the kid is just trying to get attention (believe it or not, some kids do things like this JUST to get attention OR to get rid of this person they do not want in their lives), then believe that something horrible is happening right under their nose.

In situations like these, many children become scared due to threats or ashamed of themselves. If their parent does not believe them who will?
It is disgusting. I had a stepdad who was brilliant, he was much better than my own father, but the amount of cases that are similar to the one you have written about shocks me!

I honestly have no straight answer for this, other than the mothers are selfish and inhumane. I am a mum so I know how the maternal instinct feels, if I even had the slightest inkling that someone was harming my daughter there would be horrific consequences for them! It is difficult for me to comprehend why a mother would let it happen, I swear I spent about 3 nights crying about Baby P when he was all over the news.

Thank God there are more nice step fathers out there than there are bad.
    I think the mother's are:

Afraid of retaliation from the abuser.

Attention about their lives from media/family/friends/work

And her dreams of a perfect family are shattered and she will have to start over with everything (possibly moving, changing jobs etc)

Those are the only reasons I can think of, but no matter how public the matter became - if it were one of my children - I would fight to the death and get the ****** put in jail or worse.
I have asked myself this so many times, I still don't understand their thinking from a psychological standpoint.. I get so angry when I hear these stories on the news these selfish, co-dependant, dumbasses almost make me ashamed to be female.
    there dumbasses!

Why are the middle class now the main providers of child neglect cases that come into the press?

It appears as if they cannot cope with or relate to their children's needs.

Is it because the kids are always farmed out for care so they don't think carefully about their own selfish actions? Why are the middle class now the main providers of child neglect cases that come into the press?
Yes, they very rarely have to look after their own Children %26amp; when they do they cannot cope, have a star. Why are the middle class now the main providers of child neglect cases that come into the press?
Well, middle class is the largest class so therefore they would have the majority of problems. Unless you are a working parent you have no idea what its like to support a family and an overburdenenng tax system especially on the local level. Most parents have to work, which unfortunatley leaves more child care and its related problems. PS 99.9% of people do not neglect their children.
I cannot agree with you. I don't think it's got anything to do with class. I live near an estate and I know because I see every day what neglected children are.

It's to do with dedication, and learned parenting skills. In fact, I know one woman who was in an alcoholic stupor and her kids were taken away from her, into care. And she was definitely working class.

Actually, that's not true. She didn't work, lived off benefits.

I think you're generalising. There are good parents and there are bad parents.
Having money does not make you a good parent and having no money does not make you a good parent either. Bad parents have little or no common sense and are selfish, class does not come into it.

Edited to say - The guy was a bank manager, gone are the days when being a bank manager meant something. He will earn roughly 拢28,000 a year. How does that make him middle class. I'm a Chartered Engineer earning a lot more than him but my parents were working class and that's how I refer to myself. Being working class does not mean living on benefits on a council estate!!!!!!!!!
What makes a person working, middle or upper class. Is it the amount of money you have in the bank.? The type of house you live in .? The area where you live. ? Lets take the McCanns as an example. Both were born of humble parents in the slums of Glasgow. This makes them working class ? They both studied and became doctors. This makes them middle class.? With the money they earned they brought a nice house in a good area. This makes them upper Class ? Yet both are the same people that they were when they were born. working class ? Which of these 3 classes are the McCanns really. ? You tell me.
Child abuse, be it neglect, sexual, physical, psychological or emotional, is not limited to any class strata, race or creed.

Making assumptions on that basis is very dangerous!
Actually, there is overwhelmingly more abuse and neglect with the poor, but it is so common and expected that it just isn't considered newsworthy.
I dont agree it is just the middle classes. The press have reported on several cases recently and these go across the social strata.

Some people cannot or will not cope with the demands of parenthood, its that simple.
Are they? Where's the data to back up this generalised statement of yours? A few headlines in the Sun hardly constitutes hard facts. Why not get in touch with your local Children's Services department and ask them if they have any statistics?
In today's entrepreneurial society, one may easily increase one's wealth/income through the maximization of opportunity - but not one's class. Scratch the surface and what's underneath becomes only too obvious.
i think thats a terrible generalisation

all classes have the issues of selfishness where their children are concerned, ive noticed it more in benefit %26amp; working class ..
Because its a given with estate vermin.

Robert, middle class is not even close to being the largest class.
Er Karen Matthews? I rest my case, she is hardley middle class is she?
It seems for some they are just 'accessories' that are forgotten about until they lose one!
Why are you saying that like having money makes you a better character?
I'm sure that Shannon Matthews' parents would love to be classed as Middle class....
Joe claims all working class parents are awful parents. What a load of rubbish. The working class is what keeps this country running - they work damn hard for little pay and bring up decent kids.

I think the people he's actually refering to are in a new class which I'd call the ';under class.'; These are the folk that can't be bothered to get a job, because ';we can live on benefits.'; They are too lazy to teach their kids right from wrong, hence all the anti-social yobbery in todays society. They just plonk their kids in front of the tv/xbox all day which leads to the kids not developing social skills and of course will have no idea of how to handle tricky real life situations.

The working class (my family and most of my mates) are the backbone of the country. They work hard and are definitely not lazy and they bring their kids up with love and affection and teach them morals from pretty much day 1.

The upper middle class I'd say have a sort of lazy attitude in a different way to the under class. They shun their kids off to boarding school and get nannies to look after their kids.

Some of the rich kids will be selfish as they are a product from a ridiculously rich background where the value of money is not appreciated. Examples: the Geldof kids, Peaches and Fairybell or whatever she's called. These kids just get given whatever they want no matter how badly they behave and as such will always be selfish spoilt brats. In this class the parents are extremely lazy as they'll just give their kids money simply to get rid of them for a while.

Personally I'd say real family values lie within reach of all classes. We cannot say one class is bad and the other class is great (exception - lazy under class!). Each class will have both good and bad elements.

  • What percentage of legal cases are pro bono?

If you have a source include it. If you can make an educated guess, don't be shy, just give us your guess? What percentage of legal cases are pro bono?
Less than 1%.What percentage of legal cases are pro bono?
Thanks. Everybody needs a little help sometimes.

One percent seems like a reasonable guess. The ABA had a survey a couple years back that showed 66 percent of lawyers do some pro bono work and the average amount of time spent for those who do pro bono on pro bono matters was 39 hours in a year. I suspect the average billable hours for an employed attorney exceeds 1500. And I suspect that the 1/3 of lawyers who do no pro bono are probably billing more than 1500 hours on average, which--if true--would tend to drive down the percentage. In any event, if we take those numbers and round up, we might make an argument that 2 percent of cases are pro bono. But it's a weak argument and I'd put much more stock in the 1 percent figure given earlier. Even a one percent figure might be inflated, but its in the ball park.

Is court ordered support cases always closed at the age of 18?

My daughter's case was closed when she turned 18, last November. Recently I received a letter her case would remain open under Title IV-D of the Social Security Act.I inquired to find the meaning and haven't received a straight answer yet.Is court ordered support cases always closed at the age of 18?
';Is court ordered support cases always closed at the age of 18?'; - No. They can remain open longer. One situation is when the child attends college or if they do not finish high school until after they turn 18. My wife paid support for her son until he was 18 and 6 months because that is when he graduated from high school. It can also continue (in some cases for life) if the child is seriously disabled and unable to function as an adult.

What do you think of NewZealand forcing qaurintine for suspected swine flu cases?

I was just watching the news, and there putting suspected swine flu cases into quarintine as they come in through the airports.

Also other suspected cases of NZ citezins are being forced into home qaurintine and are not allowed to leave their houses.

Is this legal to force them into qaurintine? What do you think of NewZealand forcing qaurintine for suspected swine flu cases?
Yes it's legal, and it's common practice in New Zealand which is why they do not have so many pandemics like we have in the United States. I think it's a great thing that they are forcing people into quarantine and I feel that people with any possible symptoms of swine flu have no business travelling for any reason whatsoever. I also think that the United States is taking this issue lying down and too lightly like they do everything else, and it would not surprise me if we see a large number of deaths in the United States before this whole pandemic is over and done with.

I also commend the cruise ships on refusing to pull into Mexican ports, at least someone is taking initiative! What do you think of NewZealand forcing qaurintine for suspected swine flu cases?
Not just New Zealand dude, China, Russia, India, etc are also practicing the same thing. yes it is nuts and inhuman, but how do you think Bird flu ends up in the world? the Chinese government killed all the poor victims and stop the disease, once and for all.
Of course it's legal. NZ has some of the strictest quarantine regulations in the world.

Quarantine is there for the protection of the population against communicable diseases. That's a very important function.
Airports have always quarantined people who come from foreign countries sick.

Some asian countires quarantine animals for 3 months before they let them into their country.
I think its the only way, swine wont spread and they will get better much faster, the whole point of it is to prevent swine from spreading
just make sure the crematory is running hot
I totally agree with them doing this, and I hope the U.S. will follow up with this as well.

They are just trying to save their own country, and keep it safe.

Do a lot of cases of domestic violence involve the couple beating up eachother?

We hear a lot about battered women and a few things about battered men, but it doesn't seem like both partners often beat up on each other.Do a lot of cases of domestic violence involve the couple beating up eachother?
The domestic violence industry led by radical feminist have been very successful in getting society to think only men are abusers and only women are abused. I can show you hundreds of websites on domestic violence that still have many of the popular myths such as 95% of the abused are women. Even worse, is often our tax dollars are paying to spread this misinformation.

unbiased research shows that when only one person is hit in a relationship, 71% of the time it is the woman hitting the man.

The American Psychiatric Association stated in an article in the Psychiatr News August 3, 2007 Volume 42, Number 15, page 31 that Men Shouldn't Be Overlooked as Victims of Partner Violence. This article quoted research at the Center for Disease Prevention (CDC)

These findings on intimate partner violence come from a study conducted by scientists at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). The lead investigator was Daniel Whitaker, Ph.D., a behavioral scientist and team leader at the National Center for Injury Prevention and Control (which is part of the CDC). Results were published in the May Journal of Public Health.

    Part of the results were:

Whitaker discovered, of the 24 percent of relationships that had been violent, half had been reciprocal and half had not. Although more men than women (53 percent versus 49 percent) had experienced nonreciprocal violent relationships, more women than men (52 percent versus 47 percent) had taken part in ones involving reciprocal violence.

Regarding perpetration of violence, more women than men (25 percent versus 11 percent) were responsible. In fact, 71 percent of the instigators in nonreciprocal partner violence were women. This finding surprised Whitaker and his colleagues, they admitted in their study report.

    As for physical injury due to intimate partner violence, it was more likely to occur when the violence was reciprocal than nonreciprocal. And while injury was more likely when violence was perpetrated by men, in relationships with reciprocal violence it was the men who were injured more often (25 percent of the time) than were women (20 percent of the time). ';This is important as violence perpetrated by women is often seen as not serious,';

What is considered abuse if one person does it to another should also be considered abuse regardless of who does it. Our society actually encourages the abuse of men. One has only to watch movies or TV to see women hitting men for no reason or even kicking them in the groin and no one has complained about this abuse. If a man is depicted hitting a woman, there is an outcry unless that man is quickly taken to task and either beaten or even killed by others. One such movie is ';Unforgiving'; with Clint Eastwood where some men were killed when one disfigured a woman by slashing her face after she was verbally abusive to him.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unforgiven

In spite of this evidence that men are abused as often as are women, there is very little help for abused men.

If we do not look at BOTH sides, we will only make the problem worse as it enables women to be abusers and as the director of Shattered Men, I do know that many learn how to abuse from their mothers as many of the men and women that have come to us have been abused by mom.

We need to offer real solutions and the only real solution is to encourage a right relationship with God as can be found here:

http://www.shatterdmen.com/first_step.ht鈥?/a>Do a lot of cases of domestic violence involve the couple beating up eachother?
Men are frequent victims of domestic violence and there are some Men's Battered shelters. Women are eight times more likely, though, to be beaten by a domestic partner. Until domestic violence laws rose recently to protect women who were not traditionally afforded protection from spousal abuse and until marital rape was outlawed recently, women did not stand up for themselves physically in domestic violence situations, knowing that the ';law'; would not help her. Spousal poisoning was the woman's preferred battlearms, not fists. With legal protections, though, women began fighting back. And, the same mental and social diseases that afflict men and contribute to domestic violence also afflict women. Both domestic partners fight more these days partly due to a misunderstanding related to what constitutes ';self-defense';, that retaliatory blows count as self-defense in the eyes of the law. They do not.

    http://www.endabuse.org/resources/facts/鈥?/a>
Some couples do beat each other up, many don't. Who's more likely to end up in the ER? Women since they're typically smaller and weaker than their partners. Who's more likely to be stalked and killed by their partner or ex-partner? Women are, according to the FBI and Dept of Justice.

Do some women beat up men? Yes. Is it wrong? Heck yes! Any violence is wrong. Are there services for men? Yes, there are some. Who are the majority of people seeking help? Women, and many are turned away, since there aren't enough services to meet the needs.

The battered women shelters were created by women in communities who volunteered their time and money in the 1970's in the US. It's only recently that tax money has been used to fund some of these services (which does cover services for men and women) since frankly, it just wasn't considered very important by society until recently.

I've met battered women and adult children of male batterers, but I know there are women who batter men, or fight with their partners. All our tragic. If I was a cop I wouldn't know who to arrest either. At least now the police are willing to do something about it, in the past it was a joke (police have had a fairly high level of domestic violence levels in their personal lives as well).
I honestly don't think you'll find a more truthful answer than the first one. That's the way domestic violence goes. I think the fact that many police departments around the US have started arresting both the man and woman in domestic violence calls to determine who's at fault later shows just how much domestic violence really is often a fight that gets out of control rather than just one person beating the other one. Almost every domestic violence incident I hear about in real life does involve violence from both people. Many studies you can find all over the Internet will back that statement up.

In surveys done where people are asked if they were abused by their significant other, women answer yes much more than men. However, if the question is worded to ask if your significant other punched, slapped, kicked, etc. you, men and women answer yes in very similar numbers. People don't look at domestic violence the same against men as they do against women. That's the biggest difference in numbers right there.

Fiona- It's true that men murder their wives more than vice versa, but since most domestic violence cases don't end in murder, that's not really a good way to say that men are abusing women so much more often than women abuse men. If there are 10 cases of men abusing women and 10 cases of women abusing men, but 1 of the cases of a man abusing a woman ends in death, your stats are misleading as to who's being abused more going off of deaths alone.

Go ahead and give me thumbs down, but if you actually read what I'm saying it makes sense. I still think the first answer and Patois's answer are the best on here though.
    ';Beat up'; you say?

More women are battered by men than the other way around. The more serious cases of domestic violence make it into 'the system': hospital emergency rooms, coroner's reports, police reports, court documents, social worker and psychologist reports.

On average, men are stronger than women and can inflict more damage. And they sure do. Women are much more likely to be choked and strangled, and to be beaten to a bloody pulp.

Self-disclosure surveys - such as the one referred to by Ken - are absolutely insufficient on their own. You need to look at ALL the information, and that information comes from a number of sources NOT JUST ONE). Only then can the real picture emerge. Example: I once threw a dry towel at a partner I was angry with. According to a self-disclosure survey I perpetrated violence. Its too ridiculous!
Battered men are way under reported because of the shame they feel in doing so. If they report being physically ';abused,'; by a woman, they often incur teasing by other males in their life and society has the attitude that ';men should be able to 'take it.''; I was a severely abused wife until my daughter was the age of four and then I finally had the courage to leave him for good. I hit him back twice in seven years. He is 6'4 and I am 5'. I have taught my almost 20 year old daughter that it is just as wrong for a woman to hit a man as it is for a man to hit a woman. Every time we would witness the glamorization of a woman slapping a man's face on t.v., I would point out that it was abusive and she better never do that. No woman has the right to hit a man any more than the man has a right to hit a woman, unless it is in self defense with intent to get away. There was a television movie done awhile back about a battered man and I was glad. There needs to be more awareness about it. Women tend to throw things, break things, scream, slap, etc., which is all abusive. Men just don't report it.
From what i have heard, if the cops are called out to the home by any one on a dispute the officer must arrest some one and that some one is most likely going to be the man because they will take it to him before her. If who ever gets to the phone first and they have a convincing story then the officer will arrest the other partner upon arriving at the seen and examination of it. it is more then likely that the man will be the one arrested from the call in any event. once arrested the DA can take the case out of the women's hands and prosecute with out her. once you are in this situation guys you are fckd plane and simple. if it is your first time out they just might give you a break.

Now i suggest guys that if a heated augment arises that involves screaming to walk away, leave go some were other then there. reevaluate the situation of the relationship at this point and if she can not talk to you in a come Mainer it is time to leave her. this is the only real choice you have to not fall prey to the law because of a fight. if you are a guy that beats your wife or girlfriend then **** you deserve to go to jail.

o and one last thing if you thank you have to hit her to be arrested you are wrong all that is needed is for the officer to determine if you are in malaise and have intent and that's it.

o and to answer the question , it always takes two to tango. only in rare cases dose the man actualy beat the women who dose nothing inreturn. fact cases have shown that the women starts it most of the time and the dumb *** man usauly finishes it which is such a stupid thing to do.

that could very well be cc in any event the man needs to eather man up and put up with any **** she is dealing out or walk away.

and just because i say that women start most of the aguments that end in this well let me tell you , starting an agument is not agianst the law but screaming back at your wife in a threatning maner , showing malaise with intent or hitting her is.
I was married to an abuser. It took me 2 years to get away from the creep. He thought it was ok to beat women. His reasoning was, women are unworthy of respect. I have no idea how I got into that relationship, he caught me at a very vulneralble time in my life. I knew this man for a year before I married him and there was no sign of anything, (or so I thought at the time). When he did abuse me, I fought back, I am sorry but I did.

Anyway, he is on the loose again and living in another state. It seems after the fact I found out that is what he does. He beats a women, get's her money, and then flees to another state. I wish there was a way to warn other women. I would gladly give his last know location and name if I knew I could get away with it.
Growing up in my home was like this. dad beat mom up. mom beat dad up. they both beat each other over some of the stupidest things in the world. like mom would beat dad up for leaving the toilet seat up. dad beat mom up for not having supper ready on time. it was crazy.

I think most violence there is both people beating each other. I don't believe it's just ONE person. after all if anyone keeps getting hit over and over they will strike back. it takes TWO people to fight. so there for it must take TWO people to hit back. people need to wake up to the fact that violence knows NO gender. violence is a HUMAN problem NOT a gender problem. God Bless

Also I wanted to add that IF my dad called the police and HE was bleeding and my mom was NOT bleeding dad would go to jail even if he was the one that got beat up. men will go to jail most of the time in these cases. sad but true.
From what i have witnessed. It takes two to tangle.

Often times, an arrest is made based on a biased view of the arresting officers. In a lot of cases, all a woman has to say is he hit me. A man usually has to have some evidence of significantly serious injuries.
Well since the majority of abuse starts when the woman is pregnant, I think it's unlikely that it's an equal fight between the partners. Unfortunately some men are raised to have control issues with women that get magnified when they are about to start a family.
According to the number of people murdered by intimate partner homicide males account for a much larger pecentage of aggressor than females. Check any government or law enforcement statistics to prove this.
No usually the male is the one doing the damage. You can look this up on statistics web sites from law enforcement agencies.
when their both hitting each other regurly, no id doesnt happen very often and usually will only get reported by a third party as the couple consider it part of their relationship.
Um I don't know the statistics but my mom and dad did it.
Any guy who allows this to happen is a total p*ssy in my eyes! sorry about the language but it is true :-D
