Does anyone know of any cases where washing powder or washing machines have ended up leaving holes in clothes?

It would be useful to know of the names of the brands involved.Does anyone know of any cases where washing powder or washing machines have ended up leaving holes in clothes?
No, but using bleach in the wash when the garment specifies not to often leaves holes.Does anyone know of any cases where washing powder or washing machines have ended up leaving holes in clothes?
this doesn't answer your question, but washing clothing that has wool in it, will often make holes in the fabric, because you aren't supposed to wash - just dry clean.
If the clothes was really old, it may have had rotten fibers in it. Washing it would cause those fibers to disintegrate.
if there is anything clothes can get hooked on while tumbling in the washer/dryer.

or if you are washing several things together, some articles could get snagged on a zipper or button of another item as it is being swished/tumbled.

an article could get caught in the door or hinge - all these could cause tears
They all do it.... but its not really the machines fault. If the clothes were poorly made or if they are starting to wear then the washing machine can cause the holes.
when washing clothes I always use liquid detergent powder detergent is very harsh on the materials that clothing is made from. also make sure to use the correct setting for the type of fabric. example using high agitation cycle for anything but jeans can actually put holes in your clothing if your machine has one of those drums in the middle. When washing cotton sturdy whites make sure if you are using liquid bleach that you add the correct amount of bleach at the specified time. too much bleach weakens the fabric and ultimately does cause holes
overloading with the machine will also cause this problem.
Both products can and no one particular brand comes to mind. It depends on the cleaning agent and what type of fabric, or if the washing machine has developed a ruff place inside the tub and of course, age of the items being washed.
