How many First Amendment cases have been tried by the US Supreme Court since 1791?

I am trying to find this number for reference in a research paper. Could someone direct me to where I can find the answer to this question (and the answer itself!) so I can also get the citation? Thank you!How many First Amendment cases have been tried by the US Supreme Court since 1791?
The Supreme Court doesn;t conduct trials. It reviews decisions of other courts. As to how many cases had some mention of the first amendment, cases are not categorized that way. A contract case could involve the first amendment. Cases involving conditions of probation may have first amendment implications. Cases involving advertising often involve the 1st. School discipline. Fraud. Virtually any sort of case that reaches the court could have some mention of it. You would have to read every decision and decide for yourself if it involved the 1st.How many First Amendment cases have been tried by the US Supreme Court since 1791?
When you consider how encompassing the First Amendment is (Freedom of Religion, Freedom of Speech, Freedom of Assembly, Freedom of the Press, Establishment of Religion, etc.), the answer to your question would easily be several hundred (I wouldn't even know how to arrive at an exact number without reading all the US Supreme court decisions ever granted, which would be a couple of thousand.)
