How do case histories show significance in psychology? Where do I find these specific cases?

I am trying to locate certain ';case histories'; on the web so I can compare 2 of them to their possible significance in psychology but I need specific cases. How do case histories show significance in psychology? Where do I find these specific cases?
Well, as one other person here said, ';Sybil'; would be a good choice.

I would also suggest another, for contrast. I forget the woman's name, but the book was ';When Rabbit Screams';. Both deal with cases of women who were sexually traumatized in early childhood, and both developed multiple personalities. They are both based on true stories --case histories -- and are very interesting to study. In the case of ';Sybil';, the ';core'; personality, wanted to do something with her life (to be a teacher), that would benefit others. The psychiatrist who treated her, patiently integrated all of the personalities back into the core personality, and the woman did indeed go on to become a teacher, and fulfill her dreams.

In the other case, the woman was a real estate agent, had no life goal or mission, and chose to remain a ';multiple personality';.

It's interesting to note the relationship in one having a goal to one's life, to having mental health as well.

I'm sure if you look either of them up on the web, you could find them. There was also a book and a movie made of ';Sybil';. I only know of the book, ';When Rabbit Screams';.How do case histories show significance in psychology? Where do I find these specific cases?
like hitler and stalin?
Sybil
What type of case histories ie: personality disorders? Psychosis? If you could be a little more specific I be able to help?
Although I'm no fan of Freud, his case studies on Anna O. and Little Hans are classics. Watson's case study on Little Albert is a classic in the conditioning of a fear response.

Go to your local library (or better yet, local college/university library). There are bound to be some books that contain the classic case studies in psychology (and are usually titled as such).
