What happens on either of these two cases?

1) You have a can filled to the very top with gasoline, you light a match and bring it to the top of the can.

2) You have a can partially filled (1/4 of the way) with gasoline, you light a match and bring it to the top of the can.

3) In either case, please don't try it to come up with the answer. What happens on either of these two cases?
I would have to say that the 1/4 can would be more likely to ignite, as the vapors (which are the flamable stage of gasoline) would be more concentrated inside the can.

The vapors from the full can would quickly dispense in the air. What happens on either of these two cases?
Both will ignite and burn, and yes, it's a dangerous thing to try!

But the can 1/4 full of gasoline is 3/4 full of a mixture of gasoline vapor and air (which is 20% oxygen), so it will explode. If the explosion doesn't completely put out the flame, the remaining liquid gasoline, spread by the explosion, will burn.
